Any Editors Out There??

Since we somehow got locked out of our own www.literarymaidens.webs.com account, we are going to abandon it and just stick with this blog.  Also, we are in the process of getting LMP up and off the ground for good. :-D

We will be shopping around for any reasonably-priced (is there such a thing?) editors to edit our novels up for sale.  Needless to say, they will not be up for sale for a while but we hope to put them back up on the shelf for good - very soon.

Your prayers would be appreciated for a smooth process of editing as well as the finances to publish when the time comes.  Also, please pray that our focus would not sway from where it should be: the Lord.  We want this to be a ministry, not so much a business.  Our goal is to bring honor and glory to the Most High in everything - even in writing historical fiction!

Many blessings to you all, our faithful followers. :-)

In His Service,
Christy

Just to Let Everyone Know...

...That we haven't dropped off the earth!!

Check out our new front cover design for The Warmth of His Eyes and let us know what you think by commenting below!

We are currently residing in Wichita, KS for the next three weeks as we sing for the Lord here and there. It has certainly given us girls more time to think and pray about what is really important and not so important in our lives back home in Texas.

We are currently in the process of copyrighting two of our titles and then we will publish a few hard-copies at a time, as the Lord provides. In this way, we hope to be able to grow a little at a time instead of all at once. We realize we have made a few mistakes in our marketing efforts in the past year since LMP's grand-opening last June, but we have certainly learned from them! Also, as some of you have probably noticed, our LMP email list is on hold, as well, since we are traveling and will be away until the beginning of July. Please bear with us as we make these changes. We will have an exciting literary-packed freebie of the month of July ready for you, so if you have not yet subscribed to our email list, please do so!

I am learning that my writing is truly a gift from God Himself. Of course, I always knew that but it is His to do with as He pleases. I feel that my focus needs to be on getting it out there to a hurting world instead of waiting for a thousand dollars to drop out of the sky. Yes, faith in God does require extremities sometimes, but in this case, I feel led by the Spirit that my 'waiting around' is almost for nothing.

God desires for His children to "go and do." The whole reason I took a backseat from performing constantly in our family band was to focus more on my writing and our self-publishing business - to the glory of God! I must think of others as I write and as I edit the countless short stories/novel beginnings. How will others benefit?

To help us see clearly what you are looking for, we have made a poll and ask you to answer honestly! It is located directly to the left.

In the meantime, I would ask for your prayer. Please pray with us for God's direction in our lives at this point in our lives:
*Daddy to quit his job and let God use our family band or keep his job??
*Literary Maidens Publishing company to be used solely for His glory
*Our written texts would bring honor and glory to Him
*safety on the road as we travel through Kansas and also to Colorado later this month

Thank you so much for your continued support. Don't forget to let your friends and family know about us and our endeavor to bring God's standards to life!

In Him,
Christy

for all the girls at Literary Maidens Publishing

P.S. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and announcements concerning upcoming new title releases!!

A Time for Everything

Dear Friends,

It has been like a blast of Spring air around here as we enter the new season with so many things to do - all at once!  But we know the Lord is faithful in everything, including things that we think we'll "never have time for."

Melody and I are busy like ants before winter, getting our college courses completed before the Semester ends in about a month.  I myself am discovering that it is a lot more hard work than I had thought it'd be, even though we're only taking a 'mere' six credit hours. :-D

And then we got our first set of hogs; hogs that we've been hoping and praying for for the last five years since we first moved onto our 13 acres.  Wow!  I thought goats were naughty, these little (BIG) critters are not only nasty, they are just plain ugly.

As for our writing careers, Faith has decided to pull Never Alone off the shelf and really edit and re-write it per a friend's suggestion.  Melody, whenever she isn't working on her college assignments, is working on an exciting new adventure tale set during World War I.  I can hardly wait to read both of them!

Although I am hoping to have my non-fiction book out sometime this summer, I have already had thousands upon thousands of story ideas pop into my head at the oddest moments.  Of course, I have jotted them down, but I often wonder, "When am I ever going to get around to them?"  The Lord has been teaching me a lot lately.  He has given me so many desires, so many passions that revive my spirit, that I wonder very much why He has given them to me if all I can do is constantly push them aside.  "All in good time," He whispers.  Why is it so hard to just give it all up to Him?  After all, He created every little thing upon this earth - couldn't He fulfill all those dreams of mine, too, if He sees fit?  I am learning that He can.

I am excited to see all what He does for us this Summer (being one of my favorite seasons!).  Yes, it is so very hard to trust Him at all times, but it will be nice just to sit back and see Him work!

May the Lord be your Guide in every thing this coming season.

His maiden,

Christina

Happy Early Spring!

I'm looking forward to spring... all the bright, green grass, the yellow sunshine, and the striking first flowers.  Every year I am amazed at how beautiful spring is after a brown winter!  His mercies are "new every morning."

Lately I've been working on a novel I wrote a few years ago... it needs a bunch of work, which is not always fun.  But I'm excited about rewriting it because... I love writing adventure!  As you probably could tell from my first book, The Land of Calais, that is my favorite genre, or so I've found (despite my numerous attempts to write drama... someday it will happen, Lord-willing).  The main character of this new novel is, of course, an English young woman who, with her brother, has been orphaned since childhood. The exciting plot will include espionage during World War 1 and center around the theme of forgiveness.  Any ideas for subplots are quite welcome! :-)

Christina is hard at work editing her biographical book detailing her experiences on two silo mission trips to India in 2005 and '07!  I myself can't wait to read the finished product.  I'm intrigued already by the nuggets I get to read (I'm also privileged to be one of the editors!:-).

Faith is busy with school, and is always writing something.:-)  She has set up a store on RedBubble, selling her original art and photography!  So head over there and check it out!

We are currently working on getting our books back up for sale, which will be soon, Lord-willing.  Copyright red-tape is always a headache, but by God's grace we'll get through it!

Sign up for our email list to receive exclusive monthly freebies, including chapters, recipes, articles and more!  (form on sidebar).

Happy Spring!

Writing for the Lord,
~Melody M.~

Writing Season!

Hey! How have you all enjoyed your winters?

For us Texans is cooler than we're used to and it's just getting colder! BUT, it's perfect weather for writing and we've been doing heaps! At night the lamp stays on till 10 at least and sometimes even 11 (NOT a good practice I've learned). Melody and I have been fighting over who will read Christi's next sentence first and I believe we give her just enough time to think up another!

I finished the writing process of another book which, for now, I've named JOY. I always have been bad about deciding on a name but with continued prayer I'm always given the perfect title.

I've also joined goodreads.com and writing.com. So I've met some of you and look forward to continuing God's work through these sites.

As I'll be turning 18 on the 31st I am finalizing all what I need to get done to graduate which, Lord willing, will be in July.

On the business end, we're in the process of setting up a Print-On-Demand store and finishing book formats.

His Pen,
Faith Elizabeth
